I have never played soft tip darts. Is it worth trying?

I would love to try a bit of soft tip darts. the thought of a machine that stores all your stats where ever you are in the world is fascinating. I also heard of a soft tip machine that has a sort of dart pro game built in - so you could literally play someone elsewhere in the world on it - built in camera and television screen so you could see the opposing player and they could see you. Brilliant!

Nice very nice, and in 20gram now were talking, Many players from Asia tend to throw lighter darts, and in some areas (even in the US ) they do not allow above 18 grams.

Lippoints (one of my favorite tips) are from L Style - they are one of the larger players in the Asia market. Target soft tip darts now come with them.

It looks like from the picture these dart have H-Tips on them, I tested a set I got on new darts from Winmau, that would make since coming from Red Dragon.
The H-Tip work well, they bend but you can strighten them pretty easy.

Fit Flight (you know the guys John Part sponsor) also makes a very nice tip as well

Word on using a conversion point and balance. I would highly recommend a tip from L-Style , they make a tip (not to be used in a soft tip board) that works really well in nomal steel tip board. This tip is made of (???) carbon/fiberglas/plastic...not really sure . But it is very light (like a soft tip point)

This is very important if you wish to maintain the netural balance in a dart of this design.

It seems that those are long tips. I prefer the short ones, i hate it when the tips bend and get soft.

In germany 18g is the maximum too, so 18g for me

I watched some streams of the soft-tip world championship (i think) and i love those asian machines with all those cameras and design When i come to take a picture of it, i will upload one of our soft-tip-machine... quite the opposite: old and battered.

it looks like you get 50 pts for even outer bull .. which makes sense to throw for it if you do .. and you dont have to finish on a double

@ neil: Just experienced the "bad" side of a machine doing the calculating for you last night: A mate hit beneath the d3 for finishing 6, but the machine counted 18 !? My gf hit t1, it counted as 20. at least at our old machine there is no way to correct you score.
Well, we opened the machine and cleaned the "matrix" behind the board, there was a lot of dirt on the touch-pads that notice the score. After it was finally clean (we only cleaned it with a damp piece of cloth), i built it in again... and: it doenst work anymore at all. 20 counts nothing, 8 counts as bull's eye Jut let it dry out completely now if there might be any rest of water in it (but we didnt make it wet!) and hope that it will work tonight. Otherwise we got to practice with steel tips for a soft tip competition

Finishing: I think they play "Master Out". The pub team we will play against soon decided to set the mode on master out too. Just means that you can finish with doubles AND trebles. 180 checkout anyone?
