i cant take much more!

Just played a five a side comp and yet again me and my mate played the best players and I lost 2-0 and got nothin to shout about. In practice against me mate in 4 legs I got 100% checkout percentage but the one go at a double I get I miss.

It's gettin now I can't and don't want to play. It's not a bad spell cuz u have to have a good spell 1st. If I lose 4-0 and play rubbish at the comp tomoz then theres gonna b a set of hankey darts on the streets of wolverhampton.

I respect what u say and the answer to do I enjoy is yes and no. I enjoy winning legs and games and I enjoy playing well. I enjoy my practice, I do enjoy playing when I'm at my best. I no what level I am at and when I go to comps I just want to hit my goals. Nigel heydon won the last stirchley open with 11 and 12 darters I no im not at that level but I say to myself get on a finish every leg and thats my goal. I no I'm not going to win comps yet especially when pros enter but I don't expect to hit 15 45 scores when I can hit the 60s and tons. I just want to get to 2nd rounds I've done it before but just latley the bad losses r gettin to much. Even if I lose 4-3 or even 4-1 I'd id b happy.

I love darts it comes b4 everything now I just need to take my practice game into comps :-)

Mate chill out, I get beat every other week even tho I put a lot more effort and practice in than my friends. It is annoying but I enjoy the game I'm sure its only a matter of time before my practice pays off. In life the more u put in the more u get out and I know that u will soon go further in those comps don't worry. Get stuck in pal good luck

Maybe the standard of competions are to high which is maybe a to high a level for you to play at especially if your main aim is to win a competion !

good point Jordan, i don't enter comps here coz if the prize is anything above £100 you will have county players entering and they will just blow you out of the water. having said that the competition side of things doesn't interest me at the minute im happy playing in the league for a few seasons to learn my trade and develop some bottle and the killer instinct to finish off legs. You can practice as much as you like but you need games to develop some qualities that you cant develop with practice alone, if you can join a pub team in a local area it will bring your game on immensely .. its certainly helped me anyway.

U can't make it up! Went to the comp and out of everyone I played a lad who won the comp a couple of weeks ago. Mark hylton was there again would of made my day if I played him. On a happy side I won 2 legs today yayyyy :-D

. Also nearly got my 1st 13 darter practicing. Oh well never mind.

Have you thought about going to standard flights, or even kite maybe as a halfwayf house option? I found I could throw Slims great in practice. But in games with a little bit of pressure I was awful. Slims are very unforgiving.

Anything is worth a try mate, ill buy a pack and c but usualy to me they make a dart feel dead heavy in flight if that makes sence. I also think the hankey darts r to light for me when I'm under pressure, yesterday I used my old 20g gold ones and the two 3 chances at double I hit 2.

Do you throw the 14g Hankeys? Very light dart. I found that slims are great If you are throwing well, and good in practice, but awful in a game when under pressure. Maybe like I said Kites could be a good alternative. I've gone down in weight a lot, but wouldn't want to go lighter that 22g.

Yeah mate the 14g hankeys. Again great dart in practice but not won a leg in a comp. I'll give standards a try for a couple of weeks and then kites and c how I get on in comps with them :-)

. I can't throw heavier than 22g, i have got sum bears but typical me holds the dart in the middle so don't benefit from the grip. My gold ones r gud and I do like them but they were a gift off my mom and dad for my 21st and i don't really want to damage them and the stumpies have gone from being the best darts on the planet to darts I cant throw straight lol.

Yesterday played rubbish in the comp, when I was playing the mrs dad later in evening I hit a 150 out and got some gud scores, had 4 legs on my own and had a 180 and a 100% checkout percentage until the last leg lol. If it was the same for u it Cud very well b the flights.

Have you tried the 21g hankey's?

Have a tinker with your set-up but don't forget what you originally used, see what works and what doesn't and if you aren't having any joy rather than getting annoyed, walk away and have a small break until you get the desire to enjoy the game again.
