DENNIS PRIESTLEY believes darts stars will save lives with their new cancer campaign, The two-times world champ was struck down with prostate cancer three years ago but has fought the disease following surgery and radiotherapy and Priestley is proud that his fellow oche stars are now raising awareness for the Everyman cancer campaign, The Whyte & Mackay Premier League players have been mocked up for iconic rock and pop images and slogans to underline that darts is the new rock 'n roll, They have done hilarious spoofs of Madness - One Set Beyond, Bruce Springsteen - Born in the PDC, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Barney Says Relax, The Menace, 59, said: "I've been through hell over the past three years - I'm thankful every day just to be alive. I'm delighted darts is giving awareness to the Everyman campaign. There's no doubt it'll save lives. Sport can be powerful in getting a message across and it's good my fellow players are doing this.", Phil Taylor is delighted darts is backing the Everyman campaign, The Power admits he still misses his father Doug, who died of prostate cancer 23 years ago, Taylor, who also got behind our Movember campaign said: "My dad really was everything to me, he was the man who shaped the way I am today, "He was the first person I saw play darts and that got me into the game that's been my life. But he also taught me to be polite, work hard and be grateful for what you've got, "I loved the man and it was heartbreaking to see him suffer. He had prostate cancer but it spread to his bowels. He smoked 30 Park Drive cigarettes a day and never had a day off sick in 30 years - but then he began to pass blood, ''I actually took him to Lourdes with my mum in the hope it would help him. But shortly after we came back he went into hospital for an op and he died soon after. I still miss him, ''That's why I'm so happy the Premier League is bringing awareness to the Everyman campaign.", The 15-times world champ - whose backside was used for the Springsteen spoof - added: "It's a bit of fun but it will get a very serious message across, "If we can prick the conscience of just a few blokes it has worked, "It's all about going to the docs. Whether you find a lump or feel pain, get it checked, "Blokes are terrible for going to the doctors. We're too macho to do anything about pain but we're just scared of going really, "The scary thing is that time is everything with cancer, catching it early can make all the difference."
